How does a metal housing affect the signals on a GPS device?
I am designing a portable small GPS device and I would like to use a tough scratch resistant material – such as aluminum , titanium alloy or steel – for the main housing. Is it possible to use any of these or I’m better off using ABS.
I would like to if there is any difference in terms of signal reception if I use aluminum titanium alloy or steel ?

Metal will block some or all of the GPS signals, depending on the parts covered by the metal and the location of the antenna.
