2017 Camaro ZL1 order Guide Tips 650hp

2017-zl1

The order guide for the new 2017 Camaro ZL1 sports car has leaked and with the leak comes some information on just how much power the car will pack in its supercharged V8 engine. It’s a lot of power and torque, so hold onto your hats. According to the guide, the V8 under the hood will make 650HP and 650 lb-ft of torque.

That is a serious amount of power and torque for a vehicle that is meant to be a track day weapon. It’s worth noting that while the Cadillac CTS-V uses the same blown V8, the Camaro makes more power and torque. Presumably, that is thanks to more boost, but it’s unclear. Chevy has had cooling issues with its blown V8 engines on track, whether or not the Camaro suffers the same issues remains to be seen.

Pricing for the car is unknown at this point, but it is expected to sell for around $60,000. I think for that sort of money the Shelby GT350 would be a better car for people wanting to get on a racetrack and drive fast. Naturally aspirated and lightweight cars are often much more fun on track.
